2019 - 2020
There are 400 species of plants, 169 species of birds, 56 species of butterflies, especially in oak, hornbeam, chestnut and black pine. The forest, which was 17 thousand hectares in the 18th century, started to shrink with the 19th century. Growing transportation nets greatly injured the forest and covered it with asphalt. If new ones are added to these, they will be completely surrounded. Belgrade is the last forest of Istanbul.
